Lembrando que antes mesmo do anúncio oficial, um vazamento havia revelado quais seriam os indicados a melhor jogo do ano.
Dito isso, vamos oficialmente aos indicados para concorrer no The Game Awards 2025, separados por categoria:

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 concorre ao maior número de prêmios no The Game Awards 2025, com um potencial de 12 estatuetas. Death Stranding 2: On the Beach e Ghost of Yotei receberam oito indicações cada. Também merecem destaque:

Inicialmente, serão apresentados 30 jogos, número que será reduzido posteriormente para 10 e, na fase final, para apenas 5. Os indicados desta categoria serão anunciados em 1º de dezembro.
